Final Lockdown Until Majority are Vaccinated

What we want to do is give us our best chance of making sure this is the only lockdown we have until the vast majority of our civilians have been vaccinated. We know the vaccine is key to our freedom - Gladys Berejiklian at 7th July 2021 NSW Covid-19 Update Conference

At the 7th July Covid Update Conference the NSW Premier explained that a one week extension to the current lockdown is to prevent a situation of constantly shifting between lockdown and no lockdown. The Premier followed up by indicating that the current lockdown is intended to be the last lockdown up until the majority of NSW civilians have been vaccinated. She claimed that the vaccine is the key to saving lives and keeping the NSW economy open. Watch the video below.

What did the NSW Premier mean by saying that the week extension to the lockdown is a measure taken to ensure this is the last lockdown before the vast majority have been vaccinated? As far as I’m concerned, she implied that she is hopeful that once the current outbreak is contained, there will be no other lockdown, or the current lockdown will be the last one enforced for at least until vaccines are widely available to have the majority vaccinated.

For the past year and a half, the NSW Government has vehemently insisted that lockdown orders are purely based on the advice of health experts. In effect, shifting accountability over the detriments caused by the lockdown away from Government. Health experts do not have the means to impose lockdowns and the Government is not necessarily obligated to solely follow orders from health experts. Government officials are bestowed the duty of creating policy based on factors or variables dependant on given circumstances.

I couldn't imagine that the NSW Government would just decide to ignore the advice of health experts at a time when Covid-19 cases are still active. Moreover, it was absurd for Brad Hazzard to suggest that lockdown orders may be scrapped right after the Premier hinted at the possibility of stricter lockdown measures to ensure compliance with health orders. They rely on the confusion they cause. All theatre playing on your emotions.

Are lockdowns the most effective means necessary to decrease the chances of serious harm being caused as a result of the virus? Does the severity of the virus warrant the straining of the economy and house arrest?. Health experts would obviously advise the NSW Premier that cigarettes are harmful to people’s health, does that mean that the Premier is going to ban the sale of cigarettes? No, I didn’t think so.

The Premier explained that this will be the last lockdown, whereas on the other hand, the Health Minister has said that lockdowns may be scrapped. From this we can ascertain that this will be the last lockdown before vaccines become widely available by the end of October. It would be reasonable to think that lockdown measures will remain in place if the number of Covid cases do not drastically decrease. If the number of transmissions remain at the current rate, lockdown measures will remain in place, at least up until late October.

In an article published earlier this year, I predicted an event of a second Covid-19 outbreak which would result in the mass rollout of vaccines. This second outbreak is not a coincidence, the writing was on the wall. The annoyance and detriment caused by lockdown rules will subdue the existing stigma surrounding the Covid vaccine, leading to the vaccination of the majority. You must be thinking that “if the vaccine is the key to our health and freedom, then why do those already vaccinated need to comply with lockdown measures?”. What I’m thinking is “if those vaccinated still need to comply with lockdown measures, is the vaccine effective against the new variant of the virus?”. One must take into consideration that the vaccine was created to increase immunity against the virus that emerged in 2020. Unbeknownst to the mutating nature of the virus, immunologists couldn’t have accounted for new strains.
