Sunrise co-host Matt Shirvington is set to front a brand-new prime-time game show on Seven, with the network confirming the former Olympic sprinter will host Stacks Of Cash when it premieres in 2027.

The announcement was made at Seven Media Group's 2027 Upfronts event on Thursday, where the broadcaster revealed a broad slate of new and returning programming for the year ahead.

What is Stacks Of Cash?

Described as a high-stakes entertainment format, Stacks Of Cash takes the addictive appeal of stacking games and scales it up into nail-biting, play-along television designed for the whole family. The show is based on a format developed jointly by Eureka Studios and the Seven Network.

Shirvington, widely known by his on-air nickname "Shirvo", currently co-hosts Sunrise alongside Natalie Barr. The breakfast programme remains Australia's most-watched in its timeslot, drawing an average audience of 442,000 viewers. The new game show role will sit alongside his existing breakfast duties rather than replace them.

Part of Seven's bigger 2027 line-up

Stacks Of Cash is one of several new titles Seven unveiled for 2027. Shane Jacobson will host an incoming series called Caught in the Middle, while I'm A Celebrity... Get Me Out Of Here! returns with a new hosting duo in Ricki-Lee and Jim Jefferies.

Once it premieres, Stacks Of Cash will be available to watch both on Seven and the network's streaming platform, 7plus.

For Shirvington, the role marks a significant expansion of his television profile, moving from the early-morning breakfast desk into the competitive prime-time entertainment landscape. No specific premiere date within 2027 has been announced.
