A mother and daughter have been killed in a devastating crash in Melbourne's west after a Porsche collided with their Toyota at a Point Cook intersection on Wednesday night, with security footage capturing the moments before the fatal impact.

What Happened at the Point Cook Intersection

Emergency services were called to the corner of Boardwalk Boulevard and Innessfail Drive at approximately 9.40pm on Wednesday following reports of a serious collision between a Porsche Macan and a Toyota Corolla.

The driver of the Toyota — a 33-year-old woman — and her passenger, a 67-year-old woman, both died at the scene. Victoria Police has confirmed the two victims were mother and daughter.

Security camera vision shows the Porsche travelling along Boardwalk Boulevard shortly before the crash. The stretch of road is a 60km/h zone, and police are now investigating the speed at which the Porsche was travelling at the time of impact. Tragedies like this are a sobering reminder of the human toll of road accidents, reflected in the grim list of people who died in traffic collisions around the world each year.

Witnesses Rushed to Help the Victims

Nearby residents said they heard the violent impact and immediately ran outside to assist. One witness described seeing the Porsche strike the orange Toyota Corolla and watching as the Porsche's driver — a 53-year-old man from Point Cook — climbed out of the vehicle and lay on his back on the road.

"I heard a big, loud noise of an impact, and immediately I just ran outside and saw a Porsche colliding into an orange Toyota Corolla," the witness said. "As soon as I saw the driver from the Porsche came outside and laid on his back. I called ambulance, fire and police."

Residents who reached the Toyota said the women's injuries were so severe that nothing could be done to save them despite their efforts.

Porsche Driver Hospitalised, Helping Police with Enquiries

The 53-year-old driver of the Porsche was transported to hospital, where he remained on Thursday afternoon with minor injuries. He is not under police guard. Victoria Police confirmed he is cooperating and assisting investigators with their enquiries.

Detectives are continuing to piece together the full circumstances of the crash, with the speed of the Porsche at the time of the collision a key focus of the investigation.

Community in Shock After Fatal Crash

The tragedy has shaken the Point Cook community, with residents expressing grief and disbelief at the loss of two women from the same family in a single collision. This crash adds to a troubling pattern of serious road trauma on Melbourne roads, a concern shared by road safety authorities and local communities alike.

Investigators are urging anyone who witnessed the crash or has relevant dashcam footage to come forward and assist with the ongoing investigation.
