The Seven Network has unveiled its full programming slate for 2027, promising Australian audiences a packed schedule of new reality formats, returning crowd-pleasers and star-studded productions. The announcement was made at Seven Media Group's 2027 Upfronts event, where Managing Director and CEO Rohan Lund outlined the company's strategy to connect with viewers across television, audio, publishing and digital platforms.
"Seven Media Group will bring Australians together as a trusted voice in their lives," Lund said at the event. "Across television, audio, publishing, and digital, we continue to grow and engage audiences across every platform."
A Strong Base to Build On
The 2027 announcement follows a highly successful year for Seven, which has recorded a 43.2 per cent commercial network share in 2026. The network's flagship bulletin, 7NEWS, remains Australia's most-watched news service, averaging 1.394 million viewers, while breakfast program Sunrise leads its timeslot with an average audience of 442,000. The Morning Show is celebrating its 19th consecutive year as the nation's top morning program.
Entertainment programming also delivered impressive results heading into the new year. Farmer Wants a Wife grew its audience by 24 per cent year-on-year, averaging 1.29 million viewers, while My Kitchen Rules drew its biggest premiere audience in seven years, attracting 1.85 million viewers. Australian Idol recorded its most-watched season on Seven, with streaming numbers climbing 74 per cent, and Home and Away achieved its strongest performance since 2018.
On the sporting front, Seven's AFL coverage reached 18.5 million viewers across the 2026 season, while cricket drew an audience of 16.8 million.
What's New on Seven in 2027
The headline new arrival is a popular international reality series making its Australian debut on Seven and 7plus. Singer Ricki-Lee and comedian Jim Jefferies will co-host the show, heading to the South African jungle where a fresh cast of celebrities will endure terrifying trials, camp conflict and unexpected twists as they compete to be crowned King or Queen of the Jungle.
Sunrise co-host Matt "Shirvo" Shirvington is making the move to prime time to front a brand-new game show called Stacks of Cash. Developed by Eureka Studios and Seven, the family-friendly format turns stacking games into high-stakes entertainment.
Actor and entertainer Shane Jacobson will host another new game show in which a pair of contestants takes on 100 rivals inside a giant LED arena, battling across 15 questions in a test of knowledge and strategy.
Survival expert Bear Grylls is also heading to Seven screens, taking major Hollywood names including Matthew McConaughey, Colman Domingo and Uma Thurman into some of the world's most extreme environments for 48-hour survival challenges.
A feature-length documentary titled Parky will examine the life of iconic British interviewer Michael Parkinson, drawing on his own words and reflections from those who knew him best.
Returning Favourites and Expanded Platforms
Alongside new content, Seven's established programming will continue into 2027, with 7NEWS, Sunrise, The Morning Show, 7NEWS Spotlight and digital platforms including 7NEWS.com.au all remaining central to the network's offering.
The newly formed Seven Media Group also integrates Seven's television and digital assets with SCA's radio brands, including Triple M, Hit, 2DayFM and LiSTNR, broadening the group's reach well beyond the television screen.
For viewers who enjoyed reality television moments that made headlines this year, Seven's 2027 schedule looks set to deliver plenty more water-cooler moments across a wide range of formats and genres.
