A St John WA community paramedic has been airlifted to Royal Perth Hospital with life-threatening injuries after his vehicle rolled on Great Eastern Highway near Kellerberrin, about 200 kilometres east of Perth, on Thursday morning.
What Happened at the Kellerberrin Crash Scene
The incident occurred at approximately 7.45am, when the St John WA-marked vehicle — understood to be an ambulance — left the road and rolled on the highway in the state's Wheatbelt region. WA Police confirmed the vehicle "left the road and was involved in a rollover".
The driver, a 47-year-old man, was flown from the scene to Royal Perth Hospital, where he remains with life-threatening injuries.
St John WA Expresses 'Deep Concern' for Injured Paramedic
The ambulance service issued a statement describing the news as deeply concerning. "It is with deep concern we share news that one of our community paramedics has been injured in a road crash in the Wheatbelt this morning," a St John WA spokesperson said. "Our thoughts are with him, his family and those closest to him, as well as those who assisted at the scene."
The organisation confirmed that wellbeing support is being provided to all those affected by the crash, including colleagues and bystanders who rendered assistance at the scene.
